For the performance stage, we selected Mount Chausu, which towers over Nasu in Tochigi Prefecture. We sought the spot near the summit where human presence felt least pronounced, and defined a four-and-a-half-tatami-mat area by arranging stones and branches found there. By using a vessel crafted from Mokume-gane, designed to complement Mount Chausu's rugged mountain scenery, we ensured the surrounding temperature could be felt more readily by hand than with ceramic bowls. Furthermore, these vessels are designed to double as incense burners, minimising the need for additional luggage and enabling tea ceremonies to be held anywhere.
