  In the tea ceremony room, we express the seasons and mental images by using minute differences in each element, such as how the tea is prepared, the kimono, and the flowers are arranged in a formal setting with various components and specifications. Inspired by this, we thought that by inventing a spatial piece that we could transform to suit the subject matter, we could preserve the culture of materials and techniques.

  Despite its simple design, Spatial Piece #3 Nekoji has various elements such as Japanese paper, metal, bamboo and mortar. As these have certain specifications in colour and shape, each piece looks the same at first glance. However, the differences between the various parts, which are varied little by little, express the theme of the work. Nekoji means the shape of an uprooted tree. When you look at a tree in the forest in the middle of the night, it sometimes looks like a shadow of a person.

お茶室では、 様々な構成要素とその仕様が定められた形式の中で、 お茶の点て方・ お着物・ 生ける花など各要素の微細な差を使って季節や心象を表現します。 そのことから着想を得て、 主題に合わせて変容可能な空間什器を発明することで、 淘汰されつつある材料や技術などの文化を残していけるのでは無いかと考えました。

「根古志」 は、 素朴なデザインながらも、 和紙、 金属、 竹、 モルタルといった様々な要素を持ちます。 これらは、 色味や形状など一定の仕様を定めているため、 どの作品も一見全く同じ姿形です。 しかし、 少しずつ変化させた各部の差によって主題を表現します。 また、 根古志とは、 木を根こそぎ引き抜いたときの形を意味します。 真夜中の森の中で木を見ると、 時々、 人影のように見えるものです。
